Bridges

Bridges

At Gresley Abas, our profound commitment to cultivating meaningful spaces within the built environment has led us to specialize in the art of bridge architecture.

Bridges fulfil a multitude of roles within the built environment. Beyond their practical function of facilitating the daily movement of people and vehicles, they transcend into cultural landmarks, drawing community and tourists, fostering community engagement, and standing as architectural expressions that can inspire. We are interested in all these ways a bridge can connect people. Our designs look for opportunities to facilitate interaction between people and places and grow connections to Aboriginal Country.

We hope our bridges can be emotional connectors - symbols with which people identify or visual icons that remind them of the places they call home.

We have grown significant experience in working with our leading state government infrastructure agencies and local governments alike. We are proud of our award-winning work in this field.

The Koombana Bay Pedestrian Bridge is an excellent example of our aspirations. Connecting the vibrant tourism precinct of the Bunbury Foreshore to restaurants, apartments, and the Bunbury City centre, the Koombana Bay Bridge has grown a significant presence as a key part of Bunbury’s identity.
