Tanya Jones

Tanya Jones is the legal expert at GA and is nationally recognised for her detailed understanding of contractual and project management processes, including time and cost control. With 30 years of professional experience, she provides executive oversight and mentoring to younger colleagues as projects undergo detailed documentation and construction on site.
Tanya’s expertise has seen her manage the logistics of projects beyond $30m in size, from the local/client end, while concurrently managing and mentoring GA staff, external consultants and contractors, and other stakeholders.
Tanya is passionate about – and committed to – better project outcomes for clients, and reduced project stress for architects through the implementation of more robust and diligent contract administration practices. With these outcomes in mind, she oversees the continuous improvement of GA’s internal skills and procedures in this space and advocates for similar continuous improvement within the industry, generally.
Tanya was appointed to the Australian Institute of Architect’s National Contracts Committee in 2017. For many years, she served as a Councillor of the WA Chapter of the AIA and she remains a member of the AIA’s National Contracts Committee. Tanya also sits on the Curtin University Design & Built Environment Advisory Board and tutors graduate architects in preparation for their registration. In recognition of her contribution to the profession, Tanya has been made a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Architects.
