Philip Gresley
Director, Perth
Philip Gresley provides leadership and strategic vision as a co-founding director of Gresley Abas. With experience grounded in more than three decades of design work across a rich array of project types for a valued community of public and private clients, Phil has nurtured his dedication to creating socially conscious and sustainable built environments. In leading many award-winning projects, Phil has always sought to push the brief to arrive at the best design outcomes for the community that every building grows within and around itself.
Phil's unwavering commitment to practicing architecture within the context of social and global perspectives finds expression through his leadership of Future Visioning at Gresley Abas. Understanding that this work is vital for laying the foundations of the built environments of the future, Phil works with our highly experienced Future Visioning Team led by Libby Guj to deliver highly consultative, innovative urban planning, precinct visioning, and master planning work.
As a talented communicator and natural leader, Phil is a passionate advocate for the value of architecture beyond Gresley Abas. Phil sits on many State Government and local council Design Review Panels, assessing projects and advising proponents in support of design excellence. Phil also chairs the selection committee for the EG Cohen Medal, which awards annual prizes to architecture graduates who exemplify selflessness in their work. Stemming from this initiative Phil and the community of past medal winners have formed Cohen Connect, an NFP expanding these values of 'giving back' to their profession and the wider community.
