In 2020 Gresley Abas & Gregory Burgess Architects with Realm Studios were engaged by Victoria University to undertake a major refurbishment of an existing building to create a new home for Moondani Balluk, the Indigenous Academic and Professional Services unit of Victoria University and the Aboriginal History Archive.

Moondani Balluk is a culturally safe and supportive place for Aboriginal students and staff at Victoria University. Moondani Balluk means ‘embrace people’ in the Woiwurrung language of the Wurundjeri people.
— Moondani Balluk

The refurbishment and landscape together reconnect with the escarpment of the Maribyrnong river,  revealing  and rejuvenating place. Moondani Balluk and the AHA will be located at the heart of the Footscray Park campus, with inside and outside spaces designed to support the relationships between people as well as between people and places that are at the heart of Moondani Balluk’s work. The design initiates new journeys through the campus, bringing a dynamic, living, energising quality that reaches out through the precinct. The project is transformational and offers pathways toward a sensitively connected campus community.
