K’Gari (Fraser Island) Master Plan
In collaboration with lead consultant, Taylor Cullity Lethlean, and Gregory Burgess Architects, we were engaged by the Queensland Parks & Wildlife Service to undertake consultation with the QPWS and the traditional owners, the Butchulla people, to develop a master plan and design guide for the Central Station Precinct on K’Gari (Fraser Island).
The team undertook field trips to K’Gari and engaged in extensive consultation with representatives of the traditional owners, the Butchulla people, to provide the foundations for a master plan of an area of recognised significance.
Following a commitment from QPWS to handover custodianship and management of the Central Precinct area of K’Gari, this master plan and preliminary concept provides the framework for creating a place that will celebrate a return to country for the Butchulla.
