Common Ground Mandurah

Following Gresley Abas’ engagement to complete the prominent and important initiative, Common Ground in East Perth, we have been honoured to also be engaged to continue this work with the Common Ground development in Mandurah.

Continuing the conceptual framework of the East Perth project, Common Ground Mandurah is an inclusive model providing permanent housing for people from a diverse range of cultural backgrounds. For most tenants Common Ground will be their forever home. For some, the apartments will be a safe place where they can rebuild their lives and maybe even change their identity. For others, it will be residence which finally guarantees long term security and permanency.

The Common Ground facilities are one of the key pillars of our long-term response to addressing homelessness in Western Australia, and it’s fantastic to announce Gresley Abas will be overseeing the design of our facility in Mandurah. Gresley Abas have an outstanding reputation for working closely with stakeholders and delivering quality designs including many government contracts
— Minister for Homelessness, John Carey MLA

The apartments will provide much needed housing for Aboriginal people to live with dignity, gain valuable life skills, training, and health support to help break the cycle of intergenerational trauma and achieve independent resilience. As with the Common Ground East Perth project, consultation with local Aboriginal people and those with lived experience of homelessness is forming the core of the design process.
