Centennial Park Sport Precinct Master Plan
Gresley Abas was successful in winning a public tender for the role of lead consultant for the Centennial Park Sporting Precinct for the City of Albany in the Great Southern region of Western Australia. The 68-hectare site serves as a significant regional sporting hub servicing the majority of outdoor and indoor sports and recreation activities for the City and the surrounding region.
The overall vision creates a strong pedestrian and service spine which connects revitalised sporting fields and various activity nodes along the 2km long precinct. The scheme also fosters connections back into the community and adopts best-practice water management strategies.
We have led a large sub-consultant team delivering a holistic and visionary precinct plan, along with two major buildings within the precinct.
The first phase of this project involved a comprehensive and integrated master plan for the entire precinct, together with a schematic design brief for two key sports facilities: the Soccer-cricket Pavilion and the AFL Football Stadium building.
This process included detailed needs analysis that allowed us to work with the local Shire, City of Albany, to generate a long term master plan vision that truly reflected the wishes of the community and key stakeholders.
